Yes, the DNS is pulling and pointing to the IP of the HDA server.

I don't have an Xbox -- but have you renewed it's IP configuration so it points to the HDA?
Is there a way to tcheck it is getting DNS from the HDA?

All, I am not sure where to even begin to track this issue. But whenever I turn on the DNS and point ALL my network including my router at the HDA server, for DNS, our xbox on the same network slows to a crawl and ALL pings time out, we lose connectivity, and it dies out. /var/subsonic
(which, does not exist.)

well, honestly, it was a "neat" package that would be nice to have, but, I already got itunes working over vpn so I am good there.
