Re: Subversion outside the network
Ok, sorry to say, but I decided not to use Amahi. Instead I just used Ubuntu Desktop, and installed everything I need there. I was also able to succesfully use my domain and redirect one of it's subdomains to my site, using domain.com/appName instead of subdomains. But I still think that Amahi is gr...

Manual DNS editing and how Amahi works with ports
Hello, I'm leaning towards using Amahi only at what it's good at - being a simple NAS and file sharng solution with some simple apps. But I want to also run a lot of other things along side it, manually installed Plex and Subsonic, SVN server and more. How can harness Amahi's DNS and redirects to po...

Re: Subversion outside the network
Well, maybe you're right. I guess to get what I need I'll have to: Install bare Fedora\Ubuntu distribution. Install some DNS server on it, manually configurable Install subsonic, plex (already did it on fedora alongside amahi, and it actually works) SVN repo, manually Samba server ownCloud other stu...

Re: Subversion outside the network
Oh, wait. Hm, weird. Right now I booted up the Amahi server, and tried to go to my svn.dev.domain.ru address, and it redirected me to app.lan address, so it worked. Then I tried the same from my phone, using 4G network, so it's not lan. But it also redirected me to app.lan, which is obviously not t...

Re: SOLVED: A bunch of beginner questions
I see. Well, I can't use just linux anyway. I work with CG, VFX and animation for games and movies, and a lot of software just does not work with linux. 3ds max - only through virtual machine, Maya - is a huge pain in the ass to install on anything but enterprise redhat... Did not even try others. W...

Re: SOLVED: A bunch of beginner questions
Some of them, yes, thanks. I'm still not sure if I should stick with Linux though, I'm worried about my experience with it, which may lead to all pros of Linux turning into cons. For example it's security, I may just leave a lot of open holes with my actions. Or stability - the fact that I have to a...

Re: Subversion outside the network
Wait, no, I followed the steps described in "Hosting Multiple Webapps" obtain a domain name (i.e., via godaddy.com) --for example yourdomain.com - I have a domain, which I pay for monthly and host my site on, registered on reg.ru for each web app you wish to have access to, establish a CNA...

CLOSED: Subversion outside the network
Hello again Now I have problem accessing subversion web-app (or whatever it actually is) from outside the network. I followed the steps here: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Hosting_a_website#Hosting_a_single_Webapp Specifically the "Hosting multiple web apps". Using a .ru domain I own (l...

Re: Fedora won't boot with second NTFS HDD installed
Well, in fact running most stuff like nas and servers, setting up complilers and similar stuff is easier done with linux. I am not worried about how hard it may be to unmount a drive. I'm worried about how secure and safe it is. If I lose one drive due to, say, power outage or something... Of course...
