Re: Two HDAs
Sorry, one more question. . . . If I decide to upgrade the hardware that is running my current HDA, is it OK in that case to re-use the original install code? Specifically, the server hardware will change but it will run on the same network and use the same router and gateway as the current hardware...

Video streaming
I have managed to connect my laptop to my TV and to watch videos from sites such as BBC iPlayer. Now I would like to get my Amahi HDA server in on the act, so that my laptop does not have to be connected to the TV for the entire time that the video is running. My HDA is running on an old Toshiba lap...

Re: Two HDAs
Thanks. Yes, that makes perfect sense. I think I might try the single-server solution, at least initially, while I get the hang of it. I take it that once created, an Amahi HDA cannot be "configured" to suit a diferent network. Rather it is the network has to be configured to suit the HDA....

Re: Two HDAs
Thanks a million for the quick reply! Yes, I found the "Start Building a New HDA" link. I just wanted to confirm that creating a new HDA will not delete the existing HDA, and that I will be able to continue to use both the new and the old HDA (on different networks, of course). As an alter...

Two HDAs
I have one HDA up and running. Can I create another HDA on the same account, without deleting the existing HDA? If so, how do I do that?
Or do I need to create an entirely new account and create the second HDA there?

Re: Running Apps
Thanks for the response. I tried the trouble-shooting routine and my installation passed all 13 steps without problems. However, on reflection, I think I had two DHCP functions running when I installed the apps (although I corrected that before trying to run the apps). In any case, when I removed/re...

Running Apps
Hi Just installed Amahi 7 on top of Ubuntu 12.04. All went well and Amahi seems to work perfectly. Then I installed two apps with no problems. But then I tried to run the apps and they both went looking for URLs on the internet! For example, my home domain is hib.net and so the URL for phpsysinfo (f...

Re: Simple access to Amahi apps from the internet
Thanks for the reply. May I clarify one point: is it correct that, in general, the ony two steps required to make a single app visible to the internet as username.yourhda.com are (a) port forwarding on your router and (b) editing the conf file pertaining to the app? Or have I missed other adjustment...

Simple access to Amahi apps from the internet
The latest version of Amahi server is installed on a laptop on my network and is working fine. Various apps have been installed (including Feng Office) and they too are working fine. The server is running headless and I manage it and the apps from another laptop (running Windows 7), either through a...

Re: Powerline adapters and DHCP
Oops! It looks like the problem was a damaged Cat5 cable between laptop and adapter! Very embarrassing.
Thanks very much all the same for taking the time to suggest some remedies.
