getting closer I changed the repos to point to dl/fedoraproject.org/pub/archive/fedora/linux/updates and got partial success. Now I am having trouble running the mariadb and hda-ctl I now have an error in the mariadb install that says "warning /var/cache/yum/i386/19/updates/packages/mariadb-lib...

not to beat a dead horse, but could you possibly post the repo for fedora and fedoraupdate from your 32 bit VM so I can double check mine against yours?
