CLOSED: Disk wizard causing dashboard exception
My initial clean install of amahi 11 is complete, and now I need to add my storage disks. I installed the disk wizard and disk stats apps and got started, but it didn't last long. The disk wizard will scan for disks, present me the options, and let me select a disk, but as soon as I click NEXT I get...

Re: Amahi 11 clean install, dashboard exception
Yes, you can close it. As far as the basic installation goes I am good to go. I have another issue with the disk wizard, but that is a known big so I will start a new thread. To sum up my install, it seems that the browser was the issue all along. I went back and changed to the Mellanox NIC, and my ...

Re: Amahi 11 clean install, dashboard exception
I gave it another couple of tries without changing the partitioning scheme from automatic. Not surprisingly, there was no improvement. I still got the dashboard exception. Then on a hunch, I decided to try another computer so I pulled out my laptop, and I connected no problem. Then I went back to my...

Re: Amahi 11 clean install, dashboard exception
Did you follow the install instructions precisely, making no deviations? I have installed it 3 different ways; express, minimal and full. The only deviation I can think of is the partitioning. My system disk is 2TB since this is what I had on hand, so it is way bigger than necessary. I have always ...

CLOSED: Amahi 11 clean install, dashboard exception
Apparently my experiment with a new NIC was not my problem after all. I removed the NIC and went back to the motherboard NIC, which worked just fine for the past few versions of amahi. I used the netinstall method because I didn't want the default admin user that the express was giving me. (I'm sure...

Re: Load NIC driver during install?
The wiki may not be entirely incorrect. The Installation Summary screenshots show Fedora Server Edition, but the Software Selection screen and the text refer to the minimal install. I was inclined to go with the minimal install since that was used for Fedora 25. I went ahead and installed Fedora Ser...

Re: Load NIC driver during install?
I thought about the full DVD option after my original post. The installer seems to work since it is using the media, and not looking for a network device to complete the install. However, I ran into a different problem. I downloaded the Fedora 27 iso using the link on the Fedora 27 Server DVD Instal...

Load NIC driver during install?
I've been interested in upgrading the NIC in my HDA for a while now. Unfortunately what I discovered was that amahi supports only one NIC, and is bound to the NIC used during the install. I tried changing NICs manually, but it was beyond my skills and knowledge. I am doing a clean install of version...

Is changing or upgrading network interface even possible
I recently obtained a multi-gigabit switch that will support 10Gb ethernet as well as 5Gb, 2.5Gb, or 1Gb depending on the type and length of cable used. I got this switch because I was looking for a managed switch when I found a good deal that allowed me to future-proof the switch without spending m...

Multiple NIC support for increased bandwidth
I use my HDA as a media server so I am often transferring large HD and 4K video files. I am sure that this a very common use case for many Amahi users. I've noticed that my file transfers often saturate my 1 Gb/s connection. This makes sense since any decent modern hard drive is capable of exceeding...
