Amahi server freezing daily

Hi, For the last week or two we've found the Amahi server is completely freezing around once a day. We'll generally notice this first when we suddenly lose internet access. It generally runs as a headless server but I've attached keyboard and monitor to see what's happening. Unfortunately I'm findin...

Re: Can't find where it's copied my files to!

I finally got some time to properly investigate this. I'm posting the results here just in case anybody else has a similar problem in the future. Here's what caused the issue - I used Disk Wizard to mount the new external USB drive (as /var/hda/files/drives/backup ) I backed up up my media drive to ...

Re: Can't find where it's copied my files to!

This is likely that the root drive is full. Best way to clear space is to log into the HDA using terminal. I've removed some files from the root drive now and can again access the dashboard. I'm still having no luck with apaste --sysinfo though. If you can still access the share Backup, you may be ...

Re: Can't find where it's copied my files to!

Thank you for offering to help. First of all, are you using Greyhole? I'm not using Greyhole. I have an Acer Aspire Revo running Amahi on it's internal HDD. Attached to it, I have three external USB HDDs (one of them being the new 4TB drive that I added and attempted to copy to). I access the drives...

Re: Can't find where it's copied my files to!

I'm not sure what the policy is on these forums for bumping posts but this is the one and only time I'll do it. I just have no idea how to locate where the files have gone and right now I'm stuck with a drive that's completely full when it really shouldn't be.

SOLVED: Can't find where it's copied my files to!

Hi, My Amahi setup has an internal HDD and two external USB HDDs. I recently started hearing an ominous clicking noise from one of the externals so invested in a 4TB external to serve as a local backup for all the existing HDDs. I already have cloud backup for the very important stuff, but a local b...

Re: Migrating to new server

You could migrate the drive to the new machine after the upgrade. Linux is usually pretty good at adapting to new hardware.
Now that's something I wasn't aware of. Thanks again. I think I'm ready to give this thing a try now :)

Re: Migrating to new server

Thanks for the reply. I've a much better idea of the way to proceed now. Although we don't support the upgrade method from Amahi 8 to Amahi 10, why not give it a shot. Would make things so much easier for you. Basically you would need to upgrade to Amahi 9, then once complete do it again to Amahi 10...

Migrating to new server

I have Amahi (version 8 I think) running at the moment but want to migrate to (Amahi 10 on) a smaller, more energy efficient computer. Do I need to set up a new user in order to do this or can I use my existing install code? If I set up a new user, I get a slightly unpleasant UserName-2 nickname whi...

Re: CrashPlan cloud backup

Brilliant - thank you. I already had it set up like that but thought that the desktop client needed to be running to control the CrashPlan on the HDA rather than just being used to configure (and optionally monitor) it remotely. Great plug-in - great work. Thank you :)
