Re: Can't Write to Shares from Ubuntu
Thanks--went through that page and everything looks OK. I sshd in as the user that can't connect from Ubuntu and I can write to and delete files from the music share, so based on the troubleshooting page it appears to be a Samba issue? OK, as I was typing this I tried again and everything's working ...

Can't Write to Shares from Ubuntu
I just upgraded my year-old Amahi install using the Express CD (which is awesome, by the way), but now I can't write to any of my shares from Ubuntu. I've tried mounting in a terminal as well as using network browsing and "connect to server" from Gnome, and I can connect and read just fine...

Re: SOLVED: Express install 5.4 - reboot loop
Thanks--I'll keep that in mind for the future. Letting it use DHCP and then disabling DHCP on my router once Amahi was installed worked for me. I should have added that I was running an older version of Amahi and I was wiping that out with the Express CD, so I was assuming I wouldn't have to let it ...

Re: SOLVED: Express install 5.4 - reboot loop
Never mind--I see that selection now at the very end of the install/configuration process. I wasn't even getting that far which was my problem. ;-) In my case even if I manually configured my network card things weren't working for some reason, so I had to re-enable DHCP on my router and add "i...

Re: SOLVED: Express install 5.4 - reboot loop
Forgive what is probably a really idiotic question, but I'm having problems installing the Express CD and I don't understand how you "select debug" as suggested in an earlier post and on the wiki. When I boot to the Express CD, I see two options: "Erase everything, install Amahi headl...

Re: Calendars Created with Evolution are Read-Only
Yep, I understand that I wouldn't be able to edit calendars created in Thunderbird from Evolution, but even creating a calendar in Evolution itself is read only. So are you saying that perhaps Thunderbird is somehow having a global effect on all the calendars? Interesting thought--I'll look into tha...

Re: Calendars Created with Evolution are Read-Only
Thanks, but I don't see anything related to read-only when I right-click in Evolution, so I'm not sure how to even control that or how I'd inadvertently make even new ones read-only. Thunderbird and Lightning work fine so I'll just use that combination instead, but the behavior with Evolution is a b...

Calendars Created with Evolution are Read-Only
I've been working with the Thunderbird Lightning add-on until recently, but now that I'm trying Evolution all my calendars are read-only. I understand that I won't necessarily be able to edit existing calendars because of the one publisher/many subscribers model, but even when I create a calendar fr...

AmahiTunes/SqueezeCenter Question
Basic question--I have SqueezeCenter up and running, and this works great with my SqueezeBox. I did *not* install AmahiTunes, but if I launch Rhythmbox (or iTunes for that matter) I see "AmahiTunes" as a shared library. Is AmahiTunes installed by default (it doesn't show up as an installed...

Packaging Java/CFML Apps for Amahi
I'm new to Amahi, but I'm a Java/CFML developer and have several Java web apps I'd love to be able to use with Amahi. Specifically these are web apps that run in any Java servlet container (Tomcat, Jetty, etc.) and leverage Open BlueDragon, which is a GPLv3 CFML engine. So being new to Amahi, my fir...
