Re: Advice on performance of new install
I thought about it being related to nic driver but for individual files, I am seeing good throughput. The pause seems to be in accessing and reading the share. Also, it does appear that there is more network chatter at both idle and share access over the eth0 port in F23. I'm happy to reinstall 9 an...

Re: Advice on performance of new install
I wound up going back to Amahi7 on F19. All of the metrics in Monitorix look the same but the issues are completely gone. File transfers show the same speed for individual files but a group of files can be read in a directory much faster. For example a sync scan with free file scanner from one of my...

Re: Advice on performance of new install
I am seeing the following error over and over in nmbd.log files: [2016/06/06 10:38:38.301944, 0] ../source3/nmbd/nmbd_browsesync.c:354(find_domain_master_name_query_fail) find_domain_master_name_query_fail: Unable to find the Domain Master Browser name WORKGROUP<1b> for the workgroup WORKGROUP. Advice on performance of new install
I could use some advice on performance tuning with F23 and A9. I was using A7 on Fedora previously and performed a fresh install of the latest versions of the software this week. After considerable issues with the installation (see post https://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6499 ) I was e...

Re: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
Just an FYI. After getting samba to work, share permissions didn't appear to be managed by amahi. Although I could see the samba shares listed in \\hda\ I could not access them with any of the accounts in amahi. I also reassigned the owner:group the same as all of the out of the box shares but this ...

Re: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
I was able to resolve by ensuring that all samba dependencies were installed or up to date by executing the following: yum install libacl-devel libblkid-devel gnutls-devel \ readline-devel python-devel gdb pkgconfig libattr-devel \ krb5-workstation python-crypto docbook-style-xsl openldap-devel

Re: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
I downloaded the netinstall from both the primary and alternate links and burned each to a new CD. Both CDs encountered the exact same errors as the original two CDs did. I've created bug ticket #2063 for this issue. Aside from SAMBA, all other functions of the system appear to be fully operational.

Re: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
What's the difference if I'm selecting the Minimal option in either case?

Re: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
I was not able to install with the CD. It failed with read/write errors. I tried two different CDs.

CLOSED: SAMBA won't start after fresh install of F23 and Amahi 9
I installed from a full install (minimal installation) DVD of fedora 23 per the instructions on the full install page and when the system came online, I noticed that samba wasn't running. Per another post in the forum, I changed my router specifications per the out of the box instructions and reboot...
