Preferred Equipment For A Clean Easy Start with Amahi.
I haven't been around this forum very long, not sure if you use stickies here.... Before posting this I did a search on preferred equipment, found nothing. It seems common that people are starting using older PC/machines and existing ISP networking gear and are running into trouble. My troubles too....

Re: Disabling DHCP On Comcast Gateway TC8305C
You have other options. You could set the DHCP range to a single IP address. If you can choose that IP address starting point, make it the one for the HDA. I did this the other day and didn't think it was working. Come to find I can connect to HTTP://hda/ or http://XX.X.X.XX I can connect to the da...

Disabling DHCP On Comcast Gateway TC8305C
I can't find anything online to disable DHCP. Short of requesting it to be in bridge mode. I think this can only be done by Comcast, I think they charge for this. I'm thinking to run my amahi server I don't want it "in bridge mode" just DHCP disabled. Is this correct? Doesn't anybody have ...

I was able to change my password with a bash linux command. passwd.

Re: Amahi Control Panel
bigfoot65, My Fedora 19 Minimum install went pretty easy. I guess I need reinstall fedora 19 minimum. It should wipe everything clean if I select that in the set-up correctly? I think had it wipe most of my machine clean. I did not opt for a partition. There was nothing on hard drive that I needed. ...

Re: Amahi Control Panel
I found this... I suppose I should give it a try. Then try logging in on the amahi HDA IP page. What do you think? I don't know the difference of the root pwd and the admin pwd. If I was to do the passwd command should it be done in the root directory. sudo su - http://ss64.com/bash/passwd.html pass...

Re: Amahi Control Panel
It should probably be revised. I recommend setting root password and creating a user with a password. UPDATE: Changed it in the wiki. The intent was to create a user, making it an admin user. The part about not setting a root password did not mean to not create a user password. Me being a n00b I di...

Re: Amahi Control Panel
You may need to reinstall :( If possible, recommend creating an admin and user, both with passwords. Well I guess I would have to reboot with the USB Bootable flash drive.... I am curious as to why this appears in the instructions.... Install Fedora Install Fedora 19 minimal: boot, choose Ins...

Re: Amahi Control Panel
I'm not where my server is located tonight. I'll have to figure this out next week.
I'm wondering how screwed I am or will it accept a login without a password and confirmation of no password.
Thanks again.

Re: Amahi Control Panel
The instructions said or suggested not to create a password. So I don't enter any password..... I'll try that. I have feeling it won't let me in because the fields are blank. Can I change the setting on the server? [ Post made via Android ] http://forums.amahi.org/images/mobile/Android.png
