How to rename a share?

I would like to rename a share, but there doesn't seem to be any method of doing that via the web based UI. Since greyhole is such a fickle beast, I'm wary of just renaming the directories on the landing zone and then deleting the old shares and creating new ones that use the rename directory on the...

can access shares but can't write to them on windows

Hi, I have the server up and running fine, and can read/write to all the shares with finder on mac, or via ssh/scp on linux. On Windows though, and I can see and read all the shares, but I cannot write to them. It tells me I don't have permission. I have set up samba to allow guest access for rw on ...

Re: mounted shares locally, but see no files thru /mnt/samba

I neglected to pay attention to the line: This script needs /sbin/mount.cifs, so make sure to install cifs-utils or similar, as needed. in the wiki. Once I installed the package, everything works fine. I would recommend you update the wiki to more explicity state: "This script needs /sbin/mount.cifs...

SOLVED:mounted shares locally, but see no files /mnt/samba/*

Hi, I've installed the mount shares locally script, and it appears to execute fine, but when I look at /mnt/samba/<share> I see none of the files that are in that share. If I go to the share remotely (via both Mac and PC), all the files in the share are there, and I can watch movies, view the pictur...

Re: VPN Setup Issue

I had to change the advanced setting to 'route all traffic through vpn' on tunnelblick. I can now connect to shares using the IP address of the hda.

Re: VPN Setup Issue

It appears to be an issue within tunnelblick. HDAConnect on windows works fine, but on Mac tunnelblick generates an error when trying to assign the IP address coming back from the hda. I've posted on the tunnelblick forums to see if there is any help there.

VPN Setup Issue

Hello, I am using Tunnelblik on mac to connect to my hda. I took the configuration files generated by the hda-connnect windows app and used them to setup tunnelblik. OpenVPN on the hda is the one-click application. I can connect to my hda fine, but I get this warning everytime: ----- Warning: This c...

Cannot access HDA from Mac with OpenVPN and TunnelBlick

Hi, I have my HDA up and running, installed the one-click OpenVPN app. Opened the port on my router. When I click on the openvpn-tester on the Control Panel, it comes up green and tells me it's time to install clients. So far so good. Downloaded tunnelblick and have created a configuration, but does...

Convert LVM to PV for Greyhole use

When I first installed Ubuntu on the 2TB hard drive, I followed the recommended settings from the Ubuntu installer and split the physical drive into logical volumes, using 500GB as the root partition. Installed amahi there and have spent days tweaking it and now seem to have amahi up and running. Bu...
