Hardware Suggestions
I saw another thread on this but it was from many years ago so I figured I'd make a fresh one. I currently have a Amahi 7 HDA set up with greyhole storage. I am running it on a very old piece of crap computer. Current specs are: Intel P4 2.8Ghz Abit IS7-V2 mobo (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product...

Re: Greyhole on Amahi 7.1
I commented out the ones I didn't need and I was going crazy trying to figure out why it still wasn't working until I realized that the example was Photos and the Shared folder in Pictures....
All seems to be working now. Thanks!!!!!

Re: Greyhole on Amahi 7.1
Wow... So apparently I completely missed the comment out of the copies section. I took away the #'s and saved. I also did add the drive to the fstab When I spooled up greyhole to copy the files with: "greyhole -f" and watched the log file I saw this: http://i.imgur.com/0NRd55I.png Am I sup...

SOLVED: Greyhole on Amahi 7.1
I have read every forum post on this subject and read the wiki multiple times but still have a few questions. I currently have only 2 hard drives in stalled and once I get this up and running I plan on adding more (large ones) I installed the OS on the 30gb and I have an 80gb I want to start using. ...

Re: SOLVED: Accessing the Shared Folders
Ahhh! That worked except for the fact that when I went to recreate the original username, it told me that it "already exists in system"
I think I may just bite the bullet and pick a different username

Re: SOLVED: Accessing the Shared Folders
That's what I wanted to do but the admin box next to the first (original) account's name is grayed out, even after I make the 2nd account admin. And if t he account is admin, there is no red x to delete in the top right. I was hoping I could do this all in the dashboard and I didn't need to SSH in s...

Re: SOLVED: Accessing the Shared Folders
I didn't realize at first but I am actually still only able to access all the folders under the 2nd created account. I still cannot use the original account. I used my first name for the original account so I don't want to have to make another account for me since I wanted my first name to be it. Wh...

Re: Accessing the Shared Folders
So it seems that after I click the picture of the wrench/screwdriver to clear all permissions for each folder, the picture chagnes to a smiley face and I can now access via windows explorer.
Can you explain what happened here? Just trying to understand. Thanks for the super fast responses and help!

Re: Accessing the Shared Folders
On my original user name, I tried to SSH into server and went to the "Docs" shared folder and tried to create a test document and I got an error when trying to write it out, "Permission denied" I then created another account from the dashboard (not an admin). Used this to try and...

SOLVED: Accessing the Shared Folders
This is my first server and am quite excited to get everything up and running and am learning a lot! I have installed Amahi 7.1 on Fedora 19. On my personal desktop (Windows 7) I see HDA under the Network and when I click it, I find all the shared folders. My problem is that I cannot open a folder. ...
