Re: Moving Mediawiki App

Ok. That makes sense and food for thought: I'll have to do some reading on setting up a rationale backup process. I have none at present. Thanks p.s. Should I think of greyhole as more related to creating useable disk space as opposed to enabling backup ? (I remember in the GH wiki seeing something ...

Moving Mediawiki App

I was wondering how easy it is to move the Mediawiki (MW) app. It was installed using the Amahi app store and resides on /var/hda/web-apps/mediawiki which is a mount point of my main drive on the partition /dev/sda6 This partition has some room available on it and the MW grows only gradually, but I'...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Think so. Thanks. Apart from the copy aspect with needing to create new directories, which I'll do now, I think those are the same steps I was contemplating, so I think I understand. Thanks

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Yes. When I was running the Live version of GParted I hit apply every time I set up to perform a particular operation. But I was never able to remove those two--at least from the listing shown in CFdisk. But in Gparted the deletions appeared to happen: in Gparted, where I did all the work, it shows ...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Well, I formatted each of the three partitions as ext4. Then I deleted them all. At least gparted showed them as deleted. Then I added a single large .ext4 partition. Then I dropped off of GParted and I reconnected and logged onto the server. Curious to see what cfdisk would show now. Here it is. St...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Finally getting around to running GParted. I read the instructions in wikihow. Thanks for that. Very helpful. GParted is also (like cfdisk from a few days ago) showing those three partitions: 2 small (one of which is tiny) and one large. But, just like cfdisk, GParted is only allowing me to delete t...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Will do later today now that I discovered that running the DVD first does the trick in booting LiveCD. Ended with some confusion late last reading the online Gparted LiveCD manuals (actually the directions link to two different manuals). BasicaIly I didn't see a clear explanation of how to get FROM ...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

At least one issue appears to be the boot order. In the bios/system options I believe I moved the boot order such that the DVD player is invoked last (I did that a long time ago, when I first had the server up and running. I didn't want the DVD player whizzing around every time I rebooted). Accordin...

Re: Simultaneous Issues; MediaWiki (cookies) & HDA Down

Could be a compatibility issue with your hardware. I have never had problems getting GParted to work. It should start a GUI by default, not command prompt. Maybe try a Fedora or Ubuntu Live CD. Boot up and use the disk manager in there to do the partitioning and formatting. You are using a CD I pre...
