See VPN client machines from my home network?

I want to be able to mount a friend's window's share on my windows machine. My friend has a vpn connection to my amahi VPN and he can ping all the machines on my network, but we just discovered I can't ping him.

Is this possible?

For the record, this just works. You don't have to configure anything on Amahi. Just forward port 80 (in my case 8080) to the host machine.
