Re: Amahi Netboot PXE resurrection
Ajaxmike, I just double checked this and it seems to work pretty well. If you use the fedora 14 i386 install dvd just extract the /images/ folder into the same folder as your iso. If you are sharing the tftp folder over the network you can do it right from the desktop and add this to your default/o...

Re: Amahi Netboot PXE resurrection
Hmmm, I think I spoke too soon -- the netboot install of fedora ( http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Fedora_14_network_install doesn't work on my system, at least for what I was trying to do. I received the following anaconda error: The following error was found while parsing the kickstart configuratio...

Re: Amahi Netboot PXE resurrection
Sorry, for referring to amahi-netboot as an app. I gather now that an "app" is a one click install. In any case, amahi-netboot was a breeze to install and setup vs. all of the other how-tos I found. I will search the wiki more in the future when I am trying to add something to my HDA. I am...

Re: Amahi Netboot PXE resurrection
Sorry Bigfoot, I wasn't clear. I was referring to the netboot app -- not listed in current or beta apps. I only found out about it in this thread. Regarding mythtv, you may recall that you advised me to install it manually and report the results on the Wiki as the beta app was far from ready (for no...

Re: Amahi Netboot PXE resurrection
This is awesome! I have spent days trying to manually install netboot capability for a mythtv front end. Although there are lots of how-tos on the web, they typically conflict with each other. I tried several different guides only to find that explanations were unclear and that files that were to be...

mythTV: Install as stand alone or as Amahi Ap..
I will be installing mythTV backend on my HDA in the next month or so. I understand that mythTV is in beta right now. I am fairly technical, but not enough to help with packaging. Could I please get a recommendation as to whether I am better to install the beta/Amahi version or just install it outsi...

Re: NO DNS resolution for HDA
Not sure if it will matter, but did you set the work group on the client to match that of the HDA? Both HDA and client are in the WORKGROUP work group. is the DNS server turned off on your router. Some have the DNS server switchable, some do not. The DNS server is not switchable, I must specify whe...

NO DNS resolution for HDA
I can't get to the HDA via "HDA" -- it goes to opendns. I can get to it via IP address. Network troubleshooter says: Step 1: Your HDA IP address is 192.168.1.10 Step 2: Your HDA domain name is homeserver Step 3: Your router IP address is 192.168.1.1 Step 4: Your HDA DNS server is working f...

Re: Can't install vncserver for headless
I gave up and installed NXserver from Nomachine. Works flawlessly, it's way faster, and the resolution is better. I forget where I found the installation instructions -- I think it was the Amahi Wiki. I used webmin to install the server side. You need to install the client, node, and server packages...
