I was either going to REM out the command in cron or uninstall it. I was just checking if this was something known, but not common.
thanks

CLOSED: cron / sendmail minor issue
I'm running an Amahi 6 build and haven't messed with it since it is only for backups of other machines. It only runs on Saturdays. Last month, I just started seeing this message from the Cron daemon: mkdir: cannot create directory `/var/run/sendmail': Permission denied The only hits google gave back...

Re: HDA dashboard
say my home domain when I setup the HDA was Bob.com. Whenever I went to use an app like monitorix or gh-du, the browser went to some internet site called bob.com. I edited my hosts file as a workaround. I added a line such as (where XXX is the HDA address): 192.168.1.XXX monitorix.bob.com Then the m...

Re: application error question
thanks, I didn't think to search on "dashboard". I got focused on the error message. All is back to working condition now, plus I learned how to hold a package from being updated.
Now, back to the weekend.

SOLVED: application error question
My Ubuntu 12.04 based HDA was used for backups. Every few weekends, I'd SSH in and update/upgrade to keep the security somewhat up to date. I didn't try to upgrade to another Ubuntu version. Every now and then I pull up the dashboard to check drive usage and temps, etc. Last week i got the "app...

amahi 8 and reuse of install code
I am running Amahi 6 on a HP mediasmart server. I was going to pull the drives, throw in a single small drive, attempt to install v8, work out config issues and ensure all is smooth with access and the network. If I'm happy, then I'd re-do it with the 'original drives'. If things don't work out, the...

Re: Amahi as a part time server
looks OK. The only thing is that if they open a terminal on the HDA as root user vs SSH (mine is headless), I guess we can remove sudo in the command, right?

Re: Amahi as a part time server
OK, I made a wiki. I should have named the title :Amahi as Part Time NAS or Backup NAS. Perhaps you can tweak the title so it appears Amahi relevant. Either I cannot, or I'm overlooking the obvious. https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Part_Time_NAS_or_Backup_NAS thanks for the support on this forum. I ...

OK, I'll put something together in the wiki. Hopefully it'll be useful.
