SOLVED: How to tell Ubuntu that I removed a hard drive?
A non-pooled hard drive failed on me (Ubuntu 12.04) last week. Thankfully, the data that I lost was replaceable so it's not that big a deal. The OS is on the healthy drive so I'm just using the single remaining drive to store everything for now. However, when I boot up I am informed that the drive i...

Re-installing, what can I save?
I made some poor choices during installation (primarily the static IP that I used) and want to re-install Amahi. However, I'd like to preserve what I can so that I don't spend as much time on setup as I did the first time around. What I have and would like to keep: Two physical HDD's with Greyhole d...

Re: Failed Step 4 of Networking Troubleshooter
Can someone point me in the direction of what the generic HDA network settings should be? I've managed to dork them up. I know how to turn off DHCP in the router (and remove traces of OpenDNS) but I want to ensure the HDA is set up correctly. I supposed I could do a reinstall, but I have many gigaby...

Re: Failed Step 4 of Networking Troubleshooter
I neglected to mention that I'm using OpenDNS for my DNS server. The one supplied by my broadband provider was slow and sketchy and I forgot that I switched to OpenDNS. It's likely that is playing a role because I've had problems with some wireless devices needing a wireless IP after making the swit...

Re: Failed Step 4 of Networking Troubleshooter
I'm never above workarounds. Is this a parameter that can be changed after installation? If so, where does one change it?

SOLVED: Failed Step 4 of Networking Troubleshooter
I've been using my server for several weeks now and have met my basic needs (SSH access, Greyhole drive pooling, CrashPlan backups from my other networked computers). Now I am adding apps but the DNS names aren't resolving (my home domain is duncan.net and the apps are resolving to a parked domain)....
