Adding a new drive - NOT to be included in HDA shares

I think I know the answer to this but I want to confirm... I have my HDA running with a couple 2TB data drives (and a small SSD OS drive) . All the shares are spread across these drives. Using Greyhole to replicate everything. And have a USB hanging off to backup vital data from the shares. But now ...

Re: Running VMs on HDA box

Read the Wiki pages, finally getting around to doing this... One question: Are those instructions still valid? I'm running Amahi 8 (Fedora 21) and the wiki is for getting VBox 3.2 running on a Fedora 12 host. Would those instructions still work given the current version of VBox and Fedora being used...

Running VMs on HDA box

All, Didn't find anything related to this in this forum and I'm not sure if this is possible or even suggested, but here it goes... I'm currently have Amahi 8 happily running Plex and storing my music & pics on a box of hand-me-down parts (i3-2100, 4gb RAM, 3 HDs) but want to spin up some VMs to...

Re: Crashplan to backup to offsite HD from USB?

Got a followup on my CP install. Since I installed the KDE Plasma GUI, I was able to install CP using the instructions on the CP website ( https://support.code42.com/CrashPlan/Latest/Getting_Started/Installing_CrashPlan ) and using the info in the Amahi wiki (which rocks) and the Backup forum. No is...

Re: Crashplan to backup to offsite HD from USB?

I just switched over to Amahi 7. I read the bug report you linked. I loaded the KDE Plasma GUI (because I'm a n00b and like to click on things) with the instructions in the wiki when I upgraded to ver. 7 so installing CP shouldn't be an issue...theoretically. I posted a similar question to the Code4...

Crashplan to backup to offsite HD from USB?

I have read through all the topics on here - especially this one: https://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=4796&start=0 and can't find anything to match my questions. Basically, it sounds like you do not want to run CP on an HDA that is using Greyhole because of all the read/writes takin...

Re: Replacing HD in GH pool... migrate to Amahi 7 first?

Thanks for the quick reply. Would I need to wipe the GH storage disks after I physically pull them from the system (before the Amahi 7 install)? I didn't know if having any "old" data on the disks from one GH pool will be an issue when I setup the "new" GH pool. Sure its a new GH...

Replacing HD in GH pool... migrate to Amahi 7 first?

All, I have been using Amahi 6.2 for while and had GH running without issue from the beginning. I want to replace one of my disks in the pool with a nice, new WD Red disk as the old one is rather small and rather old. But I also want to go to Amahi 7 at some point. I have everything backed up to USB...

Re: SImply backing up Greyhole / Samba Files to external HDD

DaNick, Did you find anything that worked well? I am also a Linux newb switching over from WHS after many years. I had all my shares backing up to an external HD (I don't have that much data). I would really like to have the same thing under Amahi. I installed Crashplan and it backs it up but its co...
