Re: Hostile Email Landscape
Interesting read. I have been toying with the idea of setting up my own email server... Not on my HDA, of course... But when i ended up seeing up email for my domain, in the end I went with Zoho's free option. I was thinking about it again, with cool scripts like sovereign and mailinabox oit there, ...

Re: Planning for migration from Amahi 6 to 7 (or a future version) - recommendations?
Hi Bigfoot65, Thanks for your reply. I don't actually use Greyhole - I added my additional disks using this method - https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Adding_a_second_hard_drive_to_your_HDA - would that make the migration easier? harder? What would you recommend for a "dry run"? I have trie...

Planning for migration from Amahi 6 to 7 (or a future version) - recommendations?
Hi everyone, I found and read this on the wiki: https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/HDA_OS_Migration_Guide , but I'm wondering if anyone who has gone about this process can offer any additional advice before I try this. I want to do this, but frankly, I'm scared. I'm eager to take advantage of some of ...

Re: Roku App Can't Find Roku Since HDA Install
I found the cause of this last year and fixed it - sorry for not updating. It was an issue with my router's firmware, actually. My router is a Netgear N600 - and one of Netgear's firmware updates made it so wireless isolation was in effect whether "wireless isolation" was enabled OR disabl...

Re: Hibernate / suspend on 12.04
I have been using Amahi 6 on Ubuntu 12.04 as my HDA, and I would be careful if looking into using suspend/hibernate solutions because, like Bigfoot says, with Amahi acting as a DNS or DHCP server, on the rare occasion something has happened to power down, disable, or eat up all disk space on the / p...

Re: Roku App Can't Find Roku Since HDA Install
Sorry, I originally posted this problem, but I must have forgotten about this thread. I have never found a solution. Sorry I don't have better news for anyone else who ends up here. To answer specific questions from months ago - The Roku device does listen and respond to pings from a terminal. The R...

Re: Roku App Can't Find Roku Since HDA Install
It seems to be using DHCP from the HDA - it's showing up in the networking tab in the HDA control panel. There doesn't seem to be any IP address conflict - it's listed as 192.168.1.106 in the control panel. I think I'll try assigning it a static IP and seeing if that changes anything.

(SOLVED - Not an Amahi issue?) Roku App Can't Find Roku Since HDA Install
Hi all, I'm having a strange networking issue ever since I installed my HDA. Since the install, I use Amahi for DHCP & DNS, and I have made sure that my router's DHCP & DNS functions are off. I have a Roku on my network and devices running iOS, Android, and Windows Phone 7 which have Roku ap...
