Re: Netatalk/Avahi for afp Apple shares...
I don't really have an answer for you however check out this site: http://www.kremalicious.com/2008/06/ubuntu-as-mac-file-server-and-time-machine-volume/ This is information about setting up Netatalk on Ubuntu but I believe your issues may have to do with configuring Netatalk and I would think that ...

Re: WebDAV sharing of folders...
I can't connect with the OS X Finder. I used my hda account and password, then tried root and it's password to no avail.
Any clues?

WebDAV sharing of folders...
I'd like to use WebDAV to create shared folders for such things as OmniFocus on my iPhone and Mac. Is there a tutorial for setting up WebDAV to do such things. I see a lot of posts regarding using WebDAV for calendars but nothing more. I'd really like https support as well if possible. Thanks... Dave

Re: Feature Request "afp support" (Apple Filing Protocol).
This is a great point! I am not aware of any open source package other than Netatalk capable of providing afp shares.I think Lacie network drives can also serve AFP shares. They also state that their source is open and you can download it. Perhaps there are some pointers to be found there?

Re: Feature Request "afp support" (Apple Filing Protocol).
I wish I had the slightest idea of how to package up Netatalk. I did get it running some time ago on Ubuntu 8.04 but it took a bit of messing around to get it going. It would also crash my MacBook Pro on occasion however I believe there is a newer version since my endeavor that may be more stable. P...

Feature Request "afp support" (Apple Filing Protocol).
My vote, second to building Amahi on Ubuntu would be to have better support for Mac's and the first feature on that list would be for Netatalk to be included for support of Apple Filing Protocol.
Thanks...

Re: Netatalk/Avahi for afp Apple shares...
Does this support SSL which Leopard requires by default? With Debian/Ubuntu you have to compile Netatalk with SSL support, the canned Netatalk in the Debian/Ubuntu repositories does not support SSL by default.

Re: What version of Firefly is AmahiTunes built on?
I personally have been on the fence about installing Amahi and have very little experience with Fedora. I have a home server running Ubuntu and in my spare time I try to learn my way around Linux but am an amateur at best. If Amahi was available for Ubuntu I'd have installed it a long time ago. My p...

What version of Firefly is AmahiTunes built on?
I'm just wondering what version of the Firefly media server was used to build AmahiTunes? I've installed Firefly on a number of servers, Ubuntu, FreeBSD and Debian. Most distros use the latest nightly build (svn-1696) which has a lot of stability issues and crashes a lot. In my experience svn-1586 i...
