Re: Files missing after folder rename.

I'm wondering if the [xxx][xxx] is confusing the filename parser. Does it happen to directories that don't have that double bracket sequence in them?

Re: Greyhole is considering accessed images changed

Great findings ribbles! I can confirm that your solutions work. Thanks for sharing it! I really felt bad this copying of files by Greyhole as soon as a non changed file was accessed. Wierd with the details pane thing though in windows explorer. Do you know why this was causing the image to be rewri...

Re: Greyhole not making the extra copies?

You are missing the drive_selection_groups parameter in your greyhole.conf

Re: Greyhole's lost loads of files. :( What other options?

might want to look into ZFS at http://zfsonlinux.org/ You can read more about it on Wikipedia
zfs does drive pooling, file checksum and self-healing on every read of a file.
Its not officially support on amahi though but that may not be important to you.

Re: Greyhole is considering accessed images changed

I have found a better solution for the Thumbs.db problem by following the steps in a thread here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itproui/thread/c0817162-3fcd-4823-bdf8-70b2936cd51b#c13b2c4b-de98-4189-ae4b-4b9f4295669b Apparently the thumbs.db file is only needed for OLDER softwar...

Re: Having trouble deleting files from locally mounted share

The reason for the mount_shares_locally is to run them through Samba when working on the HDA. So deleting files from /var/hda/files/share should result in the file be removed from Greyhole drives. That is the way it was explained to me and how I have done it with no issues. Maybe I am wrong or just...

Re: Greyhole is considering accessed images changed

Yes I could do that. I also confirmed you can stop constant updates to Thumbs.db by turning off thumbnail generation (folder options-> always show icons, never thumbnails) but obviously not having thumbnails is not an option for most people. I may look further into why explorer causes this, maybe th...

Re: Greyhole service won't start

Yes there was a bug with greyhole stopping/starting on Debian/OMV that was being addressed and a non-working version was committed that was then fixed the next day.

Re: Greyhole is considering accessed images changed

Solution found! Ok turning off the Details pane in explorer stops it from happening to the image files, however it still does it to the Thumbs.db. turn off details pane by going to Organize -> layout -> details pane\ Kind of annoying, as it is a nice feature to have. I suspect this would prevent th...

Re: Greyhole is considering accessed images changed

I have also noticed this exact behavior. was there any resolution? I have compared the new image files to the old ones and they seem completely identical. byte size, dates, etc. all the same. My wild guess is it has something to do with generating the thumbnails. edit: i even did a md5 comparison an...
