Reuse Mount Points (Drive Numbers)? (/var/hda/files/drives/drive#)
Ok, here are the details to understand my questions: My setup: Amahi 7 9 hard drives - sda has boot, /, swap, /var/hda/files/ partitions - sdb through sdi are greyhole storage drives (sdb1 - sdi1 partitions) Situation - sdd (mounted as /var/hda/files/drives/drive4) was showing bad sectors so I remov...

Re: Previously deleted files in metastore and metastore_backup
Understand. No reason to be nervous about using command line. It's a good idea to learn a little about it and try simple things like changing permissions. There will be some things with a server that just cannot be done with a GUI. Closing this thread. So does that mean I can go into the/var/hda/fi...

Re: Greyhole Trash Has Files I did not Delete
Check out the Amahit 7 create manual Greyhole setup wiki page. There is an example about the number of copies. If you want more details of how Greyhole works, recommend you ask in there forums. https://greyhole.freshdesk.com/support/home This is an add-on to Amahi and we may not have all the necess...

Re: Previously deleted files in metastore and metastore_backup
This article may answer why you are having issues: https://github.com/gboudreau/Greyhole/wiki/WhatNotToPutInGreyholeShares When you deleted the folder, how did you do it? Command line or via Windows client? I read the article... Oops. Well now I know. I used Transmission when I was on Amahi 6. When...

Re: Greyhole Trash Has Files I did not Delete
Yes that is correct for how you created the share. Are you using the Greyhole UI ? Just curious. I am using the Greyhole UI. Works great! 1 - Did you update the files, i.e. copy over new files with the same name? How many copies do you have set for the share? Based on the number of copies, a balanc...

CLOSED: Previously deleted files in metastore and metastore_backup
So, I'm having all sorts of things happen with my Amahi today! Anyway, so I ran FSCK, and monitored the greyhole log file and I noticed something strange. I noticed a bunch of files being listed that I had deleted months ago, that are in the metastore and metastore_backup folders. I deleted the fold...

CLOSED: Greyhole Trash Has Files I did not Delete
Hi all, I need some help/explanation. I have files in the Greyhole Trash that I did not delete manually. I think Greyhole did it, but am not sure and am looking for an explanation before I delete them. Here is my current setup: Amahi Server Windows 7 Client Greyhole Trash share Folder A is part of t...

Re: Transmission App + Front end? (encryption & port forward
I want to enable "prefer encrypted peers" and "ignore unencrypted peers" and I've found instructions on how to do this with the frontend that is installed with the Ubuntu version of Transmission. The Amahi version doesn't install a frontend, and all I can find is how to modify th...

Re: Transmission App + Front end? (encryption & port forward
You need to shut off the transmission server/process while you change the settings.json, otherwise changes will not stick. I understand, thanks for the information. However my question was regarding can I install Transmission from ubuntu software on top of the transmission app from amahi without sc...
