By any chance is the default gateway on your PC set to the Amahi server?

No, the gateway is not set to the Amahi server but to the router.

Very frustrating!!

I'm focused on the ping times. Slow ping isn't caused by DNS.

And yes, while DNS isn't the cause of a slow ping, the problem nevertheless goes away when DNS is turned off on the HDA.

I am having this exact same problem. I'm assuming you were able to resolve your issues as this is a very old post. If I physically disconnect the HDA from my network or shut it down everything goes right back up (no extreme latency etc.) 1. Only recently switched back to using my router for DHCP as ...
