Re: Switching a drive in the pool
What I ended up doing was running the transfer for everything, and just queued up a bunch of --balance operations so the transfer went a little slower than usual but at least I didn't have to baby sit it.

Re: Switching a drive in the pool
Not enough room in my LZ :\
Do you think I can safely start copying everything over while balancing the drive to make that not a problem?

Switching a drive in the pool
One of my drives is getting a lot of bad blocks, so I wanted to move all the data from it back into the pool after removing it. Data seems to read fine off of it, the problems happen with writing. I did greyhole --going for it, (but didn't have room to move all the files) then unchecked it in amahi ...

I have my vpn set up through Network Manager and it works fine if i send all data through it, but I want to have most network activity unencrypted and only a few apps en...

Re: Migrating from WHS to Amahi via VM
I tried the steps in that wiki but had no luck getting the usb drive to get past grub. I ended up borrowing a drive from work to do the install. Thanks anyway.

Installing on a 3TB main drive
I just wanted to document and share my experience installing Amahi. I'm using a MediaSmart Server ex485 and wanted to get a 3TB drive, which WHS supports, so I chose Amahi as a replacement. I was using my htpc, a core i5 box with uefi. I struggled for a day or two trying to install from a flash driv...

Re: Migrating from WHS to Amahi via VM
Followup: Well, what I want to do is basically not possible. No (free) VM software supports 3TB disks, making this thread moot. What I've done next is tried to USB install Amahi but it just won't boot. So, I installed Ubuntu to my 3TB disk booting from the same USB flash drive and that worked with n...

Re: Migrating from WHS to Amahi via VM
I made a VM in VirtualBox last night. But I'm not married to it or anything.

Re: Migrating from WHS to Amahi via VM
With duplication (but only on a couple hundred gigs) i have 4TB. (1TB system drive, 1TB data drive, 2TB data drive. The 3TB drive will be added empty) I should be able to move one drive over at a time and then add them to the pool as I go.
