Re: upgrading an extremely old server

I'm running into another issue. In the HDA OS Migration Guide, it provides a script that you can use. However, the scripts return a 404 Not Found error (I tried both the f19 and the one for f21-f25). Is there another location for them?

Thanks, and have a great day. :)
Patrick.

Re: upgrading an extremely old server

I would recommend you delete the profile for the server not being used. Then create a new one. As for reusing the code, you can but there might have been changes since it was created. I guess my question really is can I re-run the hda-install right now and use the install code on the existing serve...

Re: upgrading an extremely old server

This is the best path as you won't have to worry about upgrade failures and it will be a fresh system. One final question. At one point in time, I had two HDA's set up (PatrickDickey and PatrickDickey-2). The server is the second, but in my control panel, it only shows the first one. Can I rerun th...

CLOSED: upgrading an extremely old server

Hi, everyone, I have an Amahi 7 server that I haven't used in years. I want to upgrade it to the newest version, if possible. In the wiki, it talks about going from 7 to 8, then 8 to 9, 9 to 10, then finally 10 to 11. The problem is the repos for 7, 8, and probably 9 don't exist anymore. My main que...

Re: Some questions about upgrading to Amahi 8 from Amahi 7

I understand your concerns and have answered your questions below: 3. Will I be able to install any desktop afterwards? I ask this, because I use TeamViewer to manage my computers, and it requires a desktop to work. ANSWER: Support with Gnome or any other desktop was discontinued in Amahi 7 and wil...

Some questions about upgrading to Amahi 8 from Amahi 7

Hi there, From reading another post, I understand that I can't do an upgrade to Amahi 8 (because I have the Gnome Desktop installed), so I have to do a clean install. I do have some questions though. 1. I have my system hard drive set up with the partitions for the boot/root/home/swap as one part, a...

Suggestion that we drop the Fedora base, and go with Ubuntu

I'm tossing this out for opinions from everyone, and hopefully consideration by the development team. In the past, we tried an Ubuntu-based version of Amahi (on the 12.04 LTS). I'm suggesting that we drop the Fedora based version, or at least make the Ubuntu one a default moving on. The reason that ...

HDAConnect fails to connect via OpenVPN (Windows 8.1)

Hi there, I noticed someone else having this issue on a Mac, but I'm having it with the official HDAConnect app running on Windows 8.1 (64). I've verified that the openvpn service is running, and in my control panel, it says that it's working. Here is the log for the most recent attempt: Tue Feb 17 ...

Re: DHCP Server Settings....specifically ip range

Ok looks like there is some capability in hda-ctl to manually configure the DHCP range settings. # NOTE: You can change default settings by creating /etc/hda-ctl.conf # and putting perl variable assignments there, like for example: # # $DEVICE = "eth0"; # $NETMASK_SIZE = "24"; #...

Re: DHCP Server Settings....specifically ip range

Not sure, but I think this may be coded in the Fedora DHCP server configuration. I do not have access to my HDA currently to poke at it. This would be something good to add to the wiki once sorted out. In Amahi 7, you were using dnsmasq, correct? So something tells dnsmasq to configure dhcp to use ...
