Re: Very disappointed with Amahi 7
I 100% agree with this. Greyhole (+ the easy samba shares) also was the only reason I came to Amahi (which has been working great, many thanks). Amahi without greyhole is of no use to me. At least until BTRFS raid5/6 gets proper auto-healing support, once this lands we won't use greyhole anymore (ou...

Re: Possible use of Lubuntu 12.04??
Amahi is most definitely not a router This is news. Bigfoot and others have advertised for a long time how Amahi has to be the network router in order for the Amahi apps to work, etc... , that the "hardware" router DHCP should be disabled, etc... etc... (what a mess this is, seriously). T...

Re: Possible use of Lubuntu 12.04??
@droth49 Good points. BTW, the reason people are worried about up dates and security is because they come form a desktop environment. The do not realize that a server by in large does nothing more than serve up information and apps. It does not do heavy computing and as a rule requires little of the...

Re: Possible use of Lubuntu 12.04??
@cpg Thanks for your feedback and also thanks to Bigfoot for pointing you to this thread, he is doing a great job of supporting people here on the forums. Sorry for my "strong" comments above; they were meant to get your attention :) Not only the community is a mess in Ubuntu. Debian peop...

Re: Possible use of Lubuntu 12.04??
Be aware Fedora 19 is the only officially supported distribution for Amahi . I was just cautioning you about what OS to use as Ubuntu is in maintenance mode for Amahi. What???? Are you joking? When did this happen? There was no info about this? We finally had a stable server with up to date softwar...

Re: Amahi 7 alpha 2 release
Question: Is Amahi 7 finally getting S.M.A.R.T disk status in the webui (with an option field in the settings to enter an email address for alerts), or will end users still have to go through this prehistoric linux nonsense ? : https://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Disk_Error_Alerts

Re: Amahi 7 alpha 2 release
Is the basic amahi functionality working properly (shares + greyhole) with the x86 or x64 install ? I only need shares and greyhole to be working, the rest can come later. If it's working I'll upgrade my fedora 16 (with a fresh install as this was already an upgrade of fedora 14). Thanks for the upd...

Re: Upgrade Fedora 14 to 16 is fine, but [SOLVED works great
Added this last point to the above howto: 7. To get it to shutdown when pressing the power button yum remove gnome-power-manager This was the last glitch that was itching me with Fedora 16. The gnome-power-manager is not needed on a headless system and by removing it the system now shuts down proper...

Re: shares write permission, samba speed
Thank you bigmango, updating system as we speak. at this point my main concern is me being unable to connect to amahi shares with any new users.. will poke around This should not happen (user accesses should work automatically when set with the amahi web UI). The ubuntu version being in beta I'm su...
