small and efficient computer hardware
hi guys, I have been a Amahi user for a long time now and I love the platform. Im currently looking into the standby powerconsumption of our house and my current setup uses about 50-60W in idle. What would be a good choice for hardware to minimize powerconsumption while the system is idle? I current...

Re: VPN connection to use American streaming app
thanks bigfoot65, i checked that out and it seems it offers a secure connection between the HDA and clients. What I am looking for is a VPN service that offers a secure connection through an abroad server/point so I can stream content that is geo-locked to certrain locations. I dont think OpenVPN of...

CLOSED: VPN connection to use American streaming app
I would like to use a VPN service to be able to access an American streaming app. I tested this and NordVPN works with this app from my phone, but now it wont let me cast on the tv anymore, because of the vpn connection. There is a Fedora option for NordVPN: https://support.nordvpn.com/Connectivity/...

thanks! I was overthinking this. Solution is like you shared rather simple.Recommend you take a look at changing Greyhole mount points in the wiki.

Re: SOLVED: Local DNS not working after moving my HDA
just wanted to share this update. I found out that my router/modem from my provider was still putting out IPv6 adresses for the DNS server. I have called them and asked to just turn off IPv6 support for my account and they did. local DNS is working fine now and wireless speeds have gone up a lot for...

Re: Local DNS not working after moving my HDA
FIXED IT!!!!!!!! I checked the settings on my router again and the DHCP server for DHCPv4 was OFF, but I had set the DHCPv6 server setting to "stateless". I thought that was OFF. When I read some more about it, it made more sense to turn it to "stateful". I renewed all my clients...

Re: Local DNS not working after moving my HDA
Those look ok to me as well. Only other explanation would be the router handing out DNS. Have you checked the router and clients to ensure there's nothing there causing the issue? what I have found on my laptop (windows 10) is that its getting a v6 DNS server address and Amahi has no v6 address? on...
