Re: Amahi and Fedora 14
It's a shame Btrfs and Zfs aren't in Amahi's plans. It's the one thing stopping me jumping on the Amahi's platform. Any serious nas type service needs to have a serious fs t it's core. Greyhole just doesn't Cut it for me. I'm now looking at frenas 8 and the omv release because of the choice of enter...

Install partitioning with Greyhole in mind.
I've posted this on the beginners forum but thought I might get a quicker response here. I have my new kit here screaming to be installed and used... ********************** I am installing Amahi for the first time (for real, as opposed to some test installs). I have 5 Hard Disks in my system. A 500G...

Re: Linux Noob. Setting up storage question
Ah, I see. I got confused with the numbers. I'm porting over ay least 2Tb of data which is why I was trying to keep things seperate and expandable. Trying to fit everything on a 500gb drive is impossible for me.

Re: Linux Noob. Setting up storage question
Thanks BF. A couple of questions if you don't mind. I then installed my 3 drives afterwards using the hda-diskmount script. I have added all 3 drives to the storage pool and Greyhole runs on them. My /var/hda/files is mounted on my OS drive as a 250GB partition. That is more than enough space for me...

Linux Noob. Setting up storage question
I'm fairly clueless when it comes to linux but I can follow instructions and deviate enough to get myself in a mess. I am installing Amahi for the first time (for real, as opposed to some test installs). I have 5 Hard Disks in my system. A 500Gb disk which I want to be the OS/Boot/Swap/Root/Home - I...

Re: SSD Amahi Drive
Cool, thanks for that. Just the answer and reasoning I was looking for.
I guess that allows me to move the SSD budget to my desktop.

SSD Amahi Drive
I'm in the midst of configuring a server for Amahi. I have a 500Gb seagate lying around that I was going to use for the System disk (OS, Amahi, Applications etc) but I'm wondering whether a 64Gb SSD Drive will suffice. I want the disk to run the OS and Amahi. Host some apps like SABNNZBD, SickBeard,...

Re: Amahi with ReadytNAS & QNAP NAS boxes
Yeah, straining it enough that the dl speeds of sabnzbd are slow and when unpacking a file I need to stop the download.
It's a handy little box but it won't replace a server.

Re: Amahi with ReadytNAS & QNAP NAS boxes
Nothing wrong with it per se, if all I wanted was a dedicated NAS. I've been pushing it as a torrent and sabnzbd, sickbeard server which is straining the poor little thing. I've decided it makes sense to have a home server where I can centrally manage everything and run the 24x7 scripts I need. Plus...

Amahi with ReadytNAS & QNAP NAS boxes
I'm looking at building an Amahi server. I currently have two external NAS boxes, a ReadyNAS NV+ and a QNAP 419P+ How easy is it for the Amahi server to take over the management (mainly permissioning I guess, drive mapping whatever) of these two NAS boxes. In my ideal world, the HDA will adopt these...
