Re: Bridging two networks
bridging those interfaces may not accomplish what you list above. seems like your bridging an interface running at 100MB with one at 1000MB? when you bridge interfaces, they will only communicate at the lowest speed of the bridged interfaces. they may appear to be connected at the desired speed but ...

Re: ping hda resolves to an address outside my network?
so i have read jsdraven's response about a dozen times and my confusion and scratching of my head just gets worse. there is a "real" dns server build into Amahi. It's called BIND. Doesnt get more "real" than BIND. i agree that the use of real dns TLDs is problematic but i dont th...

Re: DNS concerns
you can use a script called: hda-change-dns IP1 IP2 then, the HDA will use those two IPs for DNS. as far as traffic, i think your provider may not use DNS as way to discriminate traffic. maybe IP ranges? The reason some ISPs will do this based on DNS is because it allows them to control what the us...

Re: DHCP server regularly drops all leases
this happens when the lease times are either too long or some process executes that clears the leases. i believe there is something on the HDA that is resetting the DNS and DHCP configurations every 24 hours. If the reset process runs and your clients still have unexpired leases, this could cause th...

default domain
i have seen several cases here in the forums where users are running into issues using the default home.com domain. While i dont want to tell the Amahi devs how to do things, it does seem to be a bit problematic to have a setting for a "private" network default to something that is public....

Re: BRTFS
fyi, BTRFS fsck is not functional in F16.
I strongly recommend against using it until all the security tools have been implemented

Re: DHCPOffer not being accepted
is DD-WRT configured for VLANs? if you see the server sending DHCPOFFER your conclusion that the problem is server related is misguided. The common element in your scenario is the network. What are the devices plugged into? The DD-WRT router? If you have a hub or switch, try connecting the devices t...

Re: Amyone using Virtualization?
Here's an article I stumbled upon where an incredible number of OpenVZ containers (nearly 650) were active on one physical host.. http://www.montanalinux.org/openvz-experiment.html It shows the power of openVZ and how really only the non-linux OSs need full KVM layer.... saving us precious efficien...
