Re: Frustrating networking problem
hmm it seems there are a hung kernel tasks. These may have to do with flush buffer actions to disk. you might want to run (as root): smartcl -t short /dev/sd<?> where <?> is each disk you have (ls /dev/sd* will give you the complete list). This will run a short SMART test (replacing "short&quo...

Frustrating networking problem
Recently I've been getting intermittent serious networking problems with my HDA. I'm normally alerted to it because my DNS stops working, so browsing from my phone in bed doesn't work - I'm pretty sure it's always been first thing in the morning. These happen once every week or two weeks. I don't re...

Re: Installation of IBM M1015 (LSI MegaRAID 9240-8i) card
Thanks moredruid although that will force me to stick with that kernel version won't it, which will potentially cause other problems. Thanks for the details ghstryder - I thought I could get away with it by upgrading to F14 but obviously not, so at least that saves some time from doing that path jus...

Installation of IBM M1015 (LSI MegaRAID 9240-8i) card
I've searched around and I keep coming close but I've not managed to find a solution. I have an Amahi server under Fedora 12 (not made the upgrade yet to 14, not sure if there's a straightforward upgrade process yet?) I've run out of my 6 onboard SATA drives, so purchased an IBM M1015 card, which is...

Re: Greyhole Maths?
Ah, excellent, thanks. I'll have a read into this and make a decision on whether to tweak that or not. I'm out of sata connectors at the moment, so am tossing up the whole start replacing smaller drives with 2TB ones, or look to add either more sata or an esata and an external enclosure, but yeah, 5...

Re: Will Amahi do for me what WHS wont?
As a recent convert from WHSV1 to Amahi (due to #vailfail - I have 8.5TB of drives I've migrated from DriveExtender to Greyhole!), I know that you can setup VNC no problem, run seperate desktops per user and connect into them with a VNC client, which doesn't need installation (each user's desktop wi...

Greyhole Maths?
Not sure if it's something strange going on with my system, but:- Greyhole Statistics =================== Storage Pool Total - Used = Free + Attic = Possible /var/hda/files/gh: 888G - 819G = 24G + 1G = 24G /var/hda/files/drives/drive9/gh: 917G - 837G = 34G + 0G = 34G /var/hda/files/drives/drive1/gh:...
