Re: Update to Ubuntu 14.04
Nope, it was to 14.04.1. I had previously said "no" to an upgrade to 14.04 LTS, but with the recent public security issues, I presumed the next upgrade would default to not breaking anything, so when the offer to 14.04.1 was offered, I thought "why not?". Apache is upgraded to v2...

Re: Update to Ubuntu 14.04
Umm ... yeah ... oops! An update to Ubuntu LTS was offered to me on my server, and I assumed it would have critical security fixes so went through the process! My server is still working, serving DHCP & DNS, and my shares are still working. The database is running, as is amahi-sync and amahi-any...

Re: Sonos-like functionality?
I've tried Logitech Media Server (Squeezebox) for now, and it's not bad at synchronising audio through squeeze clients, although gives a half-a-second difference. The server software has a shocking UI, though, so I'm not sure if I can suggest it as a solution.

Re: amahi appstore suggestion
As well as ratings, what about a more general sorting & filtering mechanism, so that I can sort alphabetically, list specific types of app, view recently updated apps, etc?

Re: Introducion for me and my system
Did you leave the stock firmware on your MBWE? I got sick-and-tired of being restricted by the OS (I hate Busybox) and after installing all kinds of replacement utilities, I bit the bullet and replaced the whole OS with Debian. I've been wondering about replacing my bare-metal Amahi (Fedora 14) inst...

Sonos-like functionality?
I was pre-Christmas shopping with my partner in John Lewis, when we happened to pass a Sonos stand. She asked whether we have the ability to wifi-sound our house like the Sonos does, and I realised ... I have no idea which of the many media servers available in Amahi provide this functionality! My H...

Re: Folder sync in LAN
I really should come here more often! Unison works perfectly for LAN synchronisation. My set up is: Amahi on Fedora14 <-> WD MyBook World Edition with Debian Squeeze replacing the stock OS I had to compile Unison for Debian, but once I did that, unison keeps all of my media in sync, synchronisation ...

Would there be legs in configuring ownCloud into a one-click application to provide this functionality?

New install, upgrade & migration
I've been using Amahi on a spare laptop for three months. After this time, I've decided that I would like to migrate it to a resilient system. I am happily using DLNA, MediaWiki, a half-dozen Wordpress blogs, Crashplan, Gallery3, FreeNX, etc. on my current installation, serving media to a Boxee clie...
