Re: Amahi embedded...
Oops Intel  I suppose wait and see how v0509 performs before you embark upon eUSB. Here's the speedy response from LogicSupply: I do not believe there are any BIOS settings that will affect the BOOT speed. In my experience with Mini-ITX boards, if a BIOS has an option to set the USB to 1.0 Ful...

Re: Amahi embedded...
I have a D510MO also and it's usb (stick) boot speeds are abysmal - at least with FreeNAS. initramfs based linux distros that make the proper usb2.0 drivers available early in the boot process boot okay, once the driver loads Well unsurprisingly initramfs is new to me ;) But does this mean the prob...

Re: Amahi embedded...
I'm not using the eUSB for Fedora/Amahi now as tis only 4Gb and really needs 8Gb, so will keep it for other embedded Linux OS for testing and run Amahi from SATA. In terms of speed/performance, I am not able to compare as I use Windows XP and have not run this from the eUSB, but I imagine it is very...

Re: Amahi embedded...
Intel D945GSEJT and eUSB . I've got ClearOS on the eUSB storage right now, but then found Amahi. I will look further into embedded Linux OS which are suitable for the eUSB. Same as you just using this for a NAS, and as a music fileserver for Squeezbox, but the ease and functionality of Amahi drew m...

Re: Amahi embedded...
Thanks rjwaldren, very helpful, and yes I should have made it clearer, I was talking about an eUSB industrial grade SLC flash drive, mounted on the USB headers on the motherboard.
I'm learning more all the time, thanks for the guidance

Re: Amahi embedded...
Thanks for the advice, I'll try find time to explore further, but in the meantime I think I'll stick with my current instal on SATA. Using flash is an interesting way of reducing system size and power requirements. There are also significant advantages in terms of speed, and noise. I'm coming over t...

Re: Amahi embedded...
You could turn off access updates in /var if it's in flash and that will help a lot, since most of the time these files will be in memory and very few writes will take place. You could move the logs somewhere else too (say with a link). Thanks cpg, please can you point me to a useful how-to which t...

Re: Fedora DVD really needed?
What is the minimum Fedora instal required for Amahi? I'm trying to reduce the root size, and advice appreciated on what I can safely leave out of the installation.

Re: Amahi embedded...
I'm interested in this too, for a USB boot drive, and two SATA drives for data. I need to know the minimum size USB drive required. And can I set up the swap file on one of the SATA drives? Also, what is the minimum Fedora custom instal for Amahi, i.e. what components can I leave out? I am hoping to...

Boot from a USB drive, and what is the minimum drive size?
Hello, I've got Amahi installed and it looks very good, thanks for all your work. Can Amahi/Fedora boot from a USB drive? I do not mean to instal from a USB drive, but to use the USB drive as a boot drive with all the software, and then keep my data on my hard drives. If yes, is there an easy way to...
