Re: BASH - Is it flawed or are the press talkingnonsense
For those that are running Amahi on older versions of Fedora (I'm on F14 as some of the apps I use are not available or working properly on F19) you can update bash quite easily by following this link: how to manually update bash to patch shellshock bug.

Re: Crashplan not working since reinstall
It was the .tgz file from the CrashPlan website.Did you download the .gz file and install? We had it packaged as an RPM for Fedora and DEB for Ubuntu. Was thinking maybe we should switch to the .gz file instead.

Re: Crashplan not working since reinstall
It is Fedora 14. I've now downloaded and installed from the Crashplan website and this seems to be working fine. Obviously the server does not show up on the dashboard but since this always showed as stopped anyway I can live with this. If others have had this problem with the oneclick install then ...

Re: Crashplan not working since reinstall
Thanks for your swift reply. The file permissions were 600. There are no error messages in the app install log - the following is shown for every time I tried installing the app: ======= app install begin @ Mon Jul 09 05:31:38 +0100 2012 ========== Installing app id sp2uf8jdkx under /var/hda/platfor...

Crashplan not working since reinstall
I've been running Crashplan for some time (since Amahi 5/Fedora 12 and now on Amahi 6/Fedora 14) and it has worked well for me. Yesterday, however, I decided to reinstall it as I couldn't back up an external computer. After paying for the app (as an early user it was initially free) I installed it b...

Re: VPN WON"T GO!
I'd just like to point out that Android 4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) has IPSec VPN built in and will connect without needing to root. I'm using IPSec for my Android tablet and Open VPN for my laptop using the HDA Client. No problems with either and both very easy to set up.

Re: Amahi Energy Saver
Hello jayrock.
I've been away so couldn't follow your latest instructions until now. I've reactivated spin down idle disks and can now start and restart the server via the dashboard with no problems.
Thanks

Re: Amahi Energy Saver
Hello jayrock.
I deactivated "spin down idle disks" as you suggested and now I can restart the aes server via the web app. I'll see how it works over the next day or so.
Thanks
hypertense
