Re: My landing zone is always full
fist of all i 'm not a linux or greyhole expert but i managed to learn a thing or 2 so here it goes. /var/hda/files/gh: 1834G - 1741G = 0G + 852G = 852G this looks like the landing zone and it's full (852G). just empty the attic (recyle bin). check for it for it in the viki. you just have to create ...

Re: Fresh Amahi install and existing Greyhole shares
just went through this and it's wasn't pretty. the os disk went bad so here it goes. 1. i think it's simpler to just attach all the disks that were in the pool (and still work) and to a hda-diskmount once. the command will mount all that is unmounted. do not close the console and write the UUID line...

Re: looking for guidance concerning system partition
if i understand correctly you had another instance of amahi running and you had to reinstall amahi (and fedora). if you did that you do not have to get all the data copied through the landing zone. the data disks have the structure already and it's easy (given you know what u do) to put them in the ...

Re: Drive usage
on the LZ you should have enough space to store at leats your largest single files. then it should have enough buffer zone to allow you to copy your stuff. if you regularly write large amount of data then you should make sure you have the LZ big enough and having a dedicated partition for it. if you...

Re: Drive usage
you can do a live repartitioning. you just have to unmount the partition and then you can do whatever you like. i did not manage to play with the / partition, for /home you should be in root account to do that.
welcome and good luck!

Re: Drive usage
noobie here also but banged my head a lot against amahi/fedora. no you do not need to remake what you have. some sugest that / should be 20gb and /home 10. depends on wether you want this only as a server or not. i have / and /home on a 20gb partition as i need only the server functionality. matter ...

Re: Drive usage
to me the size of the / and /home is excessively large unless you use you server for more than files/media server
you could mount one of the larger partitions as the landing zone (/var/hda/files) and also have that in the pool. if i were you i would use the largest and then fastest drive for it.

Re: Having trouble setting up landing zone
you can unmount any mount by using disk utility or gparted at any time. so unmount both partitions are remove the lines in the /etc/fstab fill in the line data for the landing zone in /etc/fstab "by hand" using the guid. do not run mount or hda-diskmount yet. reboot check in the disk utili...
