Re: Hat's off to the Amahi Team

I do not have a Gigabit Network, only 100MBit/s, so i should have +- between 7 and 10 MB/s on the network. I have this now because of the update i did, but the slow speed on the PCI SATA Controller between the disks intercepts on the network speed. I am installing Windows on the machine just to test...

Re: Hat's off to the Amahi Team

Hi, Having my Amahi Server running now for a couple of weeks, still on fedora 12 and Amahi5, i am also facing a similar problem then you have, in fact i had my samba transfers that were slow. They are now a little faster after having updated the components on fedora (using yum -y update). But the is...

I have not done an update do Fedora 14, but did the first part of the update -> yum -y update After this had completed, i rebooted the machine and did a copy test again, and i had better results, in fact from SATA to SATA i have now between 15 and 20 MB/s. Re: Getting data from Server slow

Hi, Thanks for your reply. After having done some tests, i have found out that the problem is not on the network, because copying data from the IDE drive was about 8-10MB/s. Normal transfer. The problem is probably on the PCI SATA Controller, because copying data from one SATA HDD to the other on th...

Re: Adding new drive + Greyhole

Hi, Thank you very much for your answers, i think i'm beginning to understand how greyhole works. 1) First 1.5TB HDD is mounted as /var/hda/files, so selecting the two HDD will expand storage to 3TB. 2) You understood right, in fact i saw that with greyhole you can create extra copies of the files, ...

Re: Adding new drive + Greyhole

Coming back on this, even if i do not use GReyhole for the moment, but i want to understand how this exactly works. Tell me if what i am saying is right or not. For the moment i have: - 120GB HDD for the system, no shares - 1,5TB HDD with shares on it. Let's say i will add another HDD with 1,5TB (fo...

Re: Adding new drive + Greyhole

Replying to myself: After some search here an reading some wiki, it seems that it is ok like i have it now. About the fact that the greyhole server is not running, found a thread here, will try if it will fix the problem. http://forums.amahi.org/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=2220 Question: 1) Following t...
