Re: Connecting with VNC
You might want to check with what your app is expecting for the format. If it is asking for a port number instead of a display, you could try 590#, where # is the display number.

Re: GNOME doesn't load
Have you rebooted recently? You might just need to restart your VNC desktop again. I used method 3 for setting up VNC ( wiki ) and only start it when I want to use a desktop program. Might be the same for you. If your VNC server is still running with a desktop, maybe try killing that desktop and sta...

Re: which torrent app for Amahi?
is this the folder I can place torrent files in so they are automatically added to the queue? This is the correct folder, but that setting just deals with where transmission sends the completed download. There is actually a cron job set up to watch that folder for any .torrent files and then sends ...

Re: Transmission/torrents share permissions problems
It is definitely a permission problem. I don't use Greyhole, so I'm not really sure how you should go about modifying the existing permissions for files already in your share. But to correct the permission errors in the future, you need to modify the Transmission config file. Instructions for how to...

1. I tried uShare but didn't like that it didn't auto-update folders. I am using DLNA and haven't had any problems streaming to an Xbox 4. I use Ampache everyday to stream music from my server to my phone. It also has a usable web-based player, but I rarely use that. 5. Install Webmin. It has a buil...

Re: Web-App Help Please Help
If you haven't already done so, I'd take a look at Amahi Web-Apps Proxy. This allows you to connect to your HDA as if you were inside your network. Apparently it is still in alpha for the current release so you would need to become a tester to install that. Your other option is to set up another dyn...

Re: Transmission path after new LZ.
You might need to kill the transmission daemon before updating the config if you weren't already doing that.
and once you make the edit should do the trick.
Code: Select all
service amahi-transmission stop
Code: Select all
service amahi-transmission start

Re: Ampache not indexing music properly
Is your music properly tagged? If it isn't I would recommend doing that first. Every problem that I have had so far with Ampache was because of a corrupt tag. If you haven't already checked out the Ampache Wiki, here is a link to the catalog specific settings and suggestions for troubleshooting http...

Re: Amahi Web Apps Proxy?
Woah, it worked. Is it even possible that using a different DNS entry would have an effect? I'm so totally puzzled by this. Thanks for the help! Glad to hear you were successful. The reason I use a separate DNS address for ampache is so that I can keep my yourhda.com address for the web apps proxy....
