Re: Changing DCHP results in lost connection to router/internet
I've been away for a while (business trip) but I shall now recap my situation. Duwady (and anyone else who might be interested), Yes, that was the solution (although I arrived there at a much more leisurely pace than I would have liked) I arrived home Thursday afternoon and decided that I was going ...

Re: Changing DCHP results in lost connection to router/internet
Hello guys, Sorry it took so long to get back. This is one big headache for me as I am not very good at networking (clueless is a better term). After much trial and error, I decided to take the HDA off line just so that I could get back here and see if there were any responses to my desperate plea. ...

Changing DCHP results in lost connection to router/internet
I've completed a successful install of my Amahi HDA with one glaring flaw. Changing the DCHP server from the router to the HDA left me without access to the router or the internet. Everything went well on my second attempt. The first attempt had one hiccup at the end. At the end of the second instal...

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
relrobber, Thanks once again for you input regarding the xfs file system. I reinstalled, partitioning with xfs, and everything is working flawlessly.... with the exception of accessing the internet. I have issues with changing the DHCP server from the router to the HDA. I will continue this on a dif...

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
logdrum, I have read that Windows machines cannot read data on an xfs partition. I've said it once and I'll repeat it a million times, "Don't believe everything you read on the internet!" What do you mean when you mention "need something that would expand.." ? Are you refering to...

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
As tempting as it is to use xfs, I will probably need to stay with ext3 because the data will be accessed by both Linux and Windows machines....
....Unless Amahi has overcome that obstacle. One could only hope.

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
relrobber, Thanks for the suggestions and insight as to how Amahi will store my data. I will be making the (first?) final install this weekend. I'm sure to make a mistake or two along the way but I'm not too concerned about that. The most important thing is getting a fundamental understanding regard...

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
relrobber, I am trying to setup this machine for the same purpose (strictly a server, along with the Wiki functionality). This project is more involved than I anticipated. Not impossible or difficult, I just didn't investigate the details like I should have. But details are what I am looking for now...

Re: Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
cpg, Thanks for the heads up regarding data files for amahi (/var/hda/files). I had completely forgotten about adding the target application and any additional add-ons. Having said that, I will also consider your suggestion of keeping one drive for each purpose (when you indicate drive, is that syno...

Partitioning scheme for Fedora and Amahi
Okay, so I finally have a machine ready to set up Amahi and I cannot seem to get past the partitioning setup in Fedora (9.0). What is the best recommended scheme to get this thing rolling? I am not familiar with the LVM volumes in Fedora and they are the default. As a trial, I installed Fedora witho...
