Re: How do I boot into single-user mode so I can run fsck?

I don't know if this will work on Amahi but I've had it work on Centos VM's... it sounds like you can boot to a workable point, simply issue init 1 Otherwise you're stuck with grub trickery etc e.g. http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/13/html/Installation_Guide/s1-rescuemode-booting-single.ht...

Re: Last call for logo! Please voice your opinion!

all logos are created equal, just that one has to be more equaler than the others.

I think they are all very worthy, but after some consideration I have to go for dice. Didn't read the thread, didn't see what anyone else was voting for so there's no bias here. Good luck!

uhm, that's not the correct sequence :)
Cheers for the correction - as I said, it was off the top of my head :)

Re: After Setup Cannot Login to Amahi

if you can get to the command line, login as root and then try: grep admin /etc/passwd If you get no result, use: useradd admin && passwd admin Once that's done, you should be able to login to the web ui. Musing out loud - A relatively simple boot-time sanity-check script could be included i...

Re: Resizing and creatng partitions

I figured it was LVM, I think the instructions need to specify not to use LVM, if anything. Unless you want to do a full re-install, have a read around the following: http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/LVM-HOWTO/ paying particular attention to vgdisplay, lvdisplay and lvreduce. It's woefully outdated, but th...

Re: Simple access to Amahi apps from the internet

I'd have thought that for external access the Amahi devs would use something like https://username.yourhda.com/application

e.g. https://timcart.yourhda.com/foffice

Re: cannot save ".eml" files on amahi shares

t bombs out of the loading stating there are filesystem errors and suggests running fschk (or whatever) Heh.. there's no such Linux tool as "or whatever" It'll probably be asking you for the root password or to press Control-D to continue (where you will continue on to failure, should you...

Re: Resizing and creatng partitions

The wiki warns against using the root partition in greyhole because if it fills up you can have some weird errors occur. Outside of that, there's no really earth-shattering reason not to. Of course the correct way to fix this is the path that you're taking, but another way is to simply monitor the d...

Re: cannot save ".eml" files on amahi shares

These files will likely be affected by the veto files directive in /etc/samba/smb.conf:

Code: Select all

veto files = /*.eml/*.nws/riched20.dll/*.{*}/
I recall seeing that just last night :)
