Wow, I can't believe I didn't follow what is usually my own first move: RTFM. Thanks for pointing that out! I'll give it a go!

Re: VPN: Port forwarding with separate modem and router

It could be that I'm wrong (don't think so.. ;) ) but the 7112 does really seem to be a router for ALL connected clients, WLAN or LAN. I couldn't really imagine anything else. It only has 1 ethernet port, but you could just add a gigabit switch for as many ports that you need and save yourself the ...

Re: VPN: Port forwarding with separate modem and router

If I may ask: why are you using a router behind the FritzBox? If I'm not mistaken, it already contains a router. There is probably a good reason for it, but it can help trying to understand what you are trying to achieve with this setup. Richard Yes, of course, the answer is quite simple. I needed ...

VPN: Port forwarding with separate modem and router

Hi, I cannot get the port forwarding settings right to enable VPN. I have a "FRITZ!Box Fon WLAN 7112" modem followed by a "D-Link DIR-655" router. Whatever combination of port forwarding I try between the two, the Amahi control panel never says that VPN is active. Basically, I ha...

Re: Cannot access "music" share, both from PC and Mac

No problem. I see the issue, your music share is not listed as writable for users. Here's what you need to do: 1. Open terminal window 2. su - and enter root password you set in Fedora install 3. chmod 775 /var/hda/files/music Once that is done, it should work. Hope that helps. That worked perfectl...

Re: Cannot access "music" share, both from PC and Mac

Suggest you check the shares troubleshooter at http://wiki.amahi.org/index.php/Shares_troubleshooting.

Re: Cannot access "music" share, both from PC and Mac

Try posting the results of this command, and see if anyone here has any ideas. ls -l /var/hda/files Hi, thanks for the quick answer. I forgot to mention in my last post that DHCP is taken care of by Amahi and is switched of in the modem. So from Fedora 12, here is the output from the above statemen...

Cannot access "music" share, both from PC and Mac

Hi everyone, Im new to the forum and new to Amahi. Ive been trying to set up a server with Fedora 12 and Amahi 5.4-1. I can see and access all shares from all user accounts, except the "music" share. I can read from it but not write to it. This is common to both WinXP and OS X 10.6. When I...
