Re: Learned my lesson - trying to avoid the consequences...
Thanks; I'll give that a shot. I can't remember whether I selected/implemented any kind of encryption when I set up my machine; I wonder if that would have any effect. In any event, I'll take a run at it and see what happens...

Learned my lesson - trying to avoid the consequences...
Okay, so I'm back from vacation. Here's the reprise of my issue: 1) I had Amahi running on a one-hard-drive machine (you know where this is going), with a good amount of non-backed-up data on it 2) I intended to a) add disks; or b) back up the data on the server to an external drive; or c) backup to...

Re: Amahi server died
Dang! I was hoping that wouldn't be it. Was creating a live USB to repair/reinstall Fedora and hopefully Amahi (following the unsupported Live USB Amahi installation instructions) but was stymied when the Repair route said it couldn't find the appropriate drivers (I think for the ethernet card). It'...

Amahi server died
Okay, this appears to be a significant problem - I was copying some data to my server this morning; some issues started popping up with my connection to the server (e.g. when I tried to access a folder on my server from another PC on my network it took a LONG time for the folder's contents to appear...

Tor not working
For some reason, I am unable to use Tor on either Firefox or Internet Explorer on my Windows 7 PC, which is connected to my Amahi-served network. I suspect it has something to do with the fact that Amahi is my DNS server. To be clear, I have the latest Vidalia bundle installed on my Windows machine,...

Videos5 -- Can't even enter password
Hey all, Installed videos5; when try to access it from my Amahi Dashboard, it brings me to the "select a user profile" page. When I select a user profile (such as Encoder) I am brought to a "The Encoder user profile is password protected" page, with a space for a PIN (or so it se...

Re: I can't reach my Linksys router admin panel
Okay, now that I've figured it out I could just slink off into the night and spare myself the humiliation, but I'd rather close this loop. See, I don't think I was entering "http://". I just did (i.e. "http://192.168.1.1") and up popped the admin login screen. Cue Emily Letilla: ...

I can't reach my Linksys router admin panel
Okay, maybe I'm missing something obvious: I wanted to try setting up VPN, so I tried to log into the admin panel of my Linksys WRT54G router at 192.168.1.1 . In Firefox, didn't get any response. In Internet Explorer, got a "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" error screen. No lo...

Jinzora on Wii?
Hi all, Might be missing something here -- my hda is up and running; I've turned off DHCP on my router so the hda is handling it; I can access jinzora from other PCs in my network by entering http://jinzora/ (or even just "jinzora") in my browser on those PCs -- but I can't do the same thi...

Okay, that was disturbing
Now I'm getting to be a high-maintenance n00b. Here's the deal: Successfully installed Amahi and several apps yesterday. Fiddled around with it (not anything major -- just saving files to/accessing from it). Then I disabled the DHCP server on my WRT54G wireless router, because the Amahi pages urge t...
