Re: Simple access to Amahi apps from the internet
It's been a while since I've worked with FengOffice (actually, I used it when it was still OpenGoo). I do think you should probably look into two things: - If I remember correctly, the software installer does ask for a hostname. Since this is already set up for you with Amahi, doing some digging for...

Re: Cannot connect to internal or external network
Virtualbox has a different set of IP addresses by default, if you are running in NAT mode. You'll need to adjust your installation accordingly. Look at the range of IPs it gives you with DHCP -- it should be something like 10.6.2.xx. Verify you have the correct settings and reinstall. Or you can set...

Re: Show Us your home server
Well, mine is an older machine... and a failure at that too. Running bare minimums. Need to upgrade, but I don't have the money. http://paste.amahi.org/f791b4e23 Some other info: - 8 Apps installed (Webmin, Amahitunes, Transmission, Family Connections, OpenVPN ALS, phpSysInfo, Gallery 2 and MediaWik...

Re: How to create an upload with transmission...
Actually, there's an extra step involved, unfortunately, if you want to seed from your Amahi server. You'll need to create the torrent on another one, add the torrent to the HDA and download it, and then you may seed. You can always take the lack of torrent creation via the web interface up with the...

Re: PK5000 Modem
The VPN works just fine with my Qwest PK5000. They just make configuring it harder than older modems. Although I'm not very happy about the lack of multicast forwarding support (no Amahitunes!).

Re: static ip question
If you really want a hack on your hands, try seeing if your ethernet adapter will do MAC spoofing (google it). That way, the server is none the wiser.

Re: Amahi and Untangle?
That sounds pretty good if you intend to use your PC as a router or firewall. However, I haven't tried it, so testing is always welcome! There are a few repurcussions to running Amahi in a virtual machine; some apps do not behave well. You'll need to configure accordingly. The amount of config it ne...

Re: Amahi Express CD sends me to terminal
The express is designed to run headless, which is why you're dumped at a terminal. If everything worked correctly (which it should've, since it rebooted), try logging in to your hda by accessing the hda's IP address. Once you're done with that, disable your router's DHCP, reboot everything in the ne...

Re: vpn connection error
A couple things don't work with most VPNs: - If you're trying to access the VPN when you're already inside of your network, it won't work. It's only designed to work from the outside. - If you are running on a network with the same IP range (run cmd and then type ipconfig), it won't work either. Try...

Re: DHCP and DNS OK for wired, but wireless Wii does not get
Most consoles should have an option to "Renew IP" or "Obtain Release". A total-power-off or complete reset should also do the trick for the Wii, as it sounds like it hasn't gained a release from the HDA.
