about to disable DHCP - but then what?
I just found out how to disable DHCP in my pesky 2Wire modem. I have read what is written below and I see all of that in my modem. But after I disable DHCP, what happen next? I am afraid my network will go down and will not be able to come here and ask for help. This is what I have read: ***********...

public web pages- DHCP- and my pesky 2Wire modem
I have a question re DHCP and displaying a web page to the outside world. My only reason to bring up a Amahi is to put up a web page from home where I have a dynamic IP address. I moderate a yahoo users group. We pdf old documents. Many pdf files are over the files size for yahoo, and over the file ...

cpg on irc fixed my problum last night. It appears that the ip gateway that was in my fedora box, was not the correct one. Thank you cpg!!! I wish I could have saved the irc chat last night as I want to learn the commands. I will figure out how to capture irc chat in the future. Thanks again everyon...

Re: error message on Fedora boot - "FAILED" in red
I just thought of another possibility as to why your HDA would not connect to the internet. Do you have an Apple device like an Airport Express or Airport Extreme? Those are a royal pain in the ass to configure to not entirely rule your entire network with an iron fist and a sadistic whip (thank Ap...

Re: error message on Fedora boot - "FAILED" in red
Let me start with the punchline. Did you try the interactive network troubleshooter ? Nope, but I will. Thanks for the tip. It seems that while I have this fedora/amahi machine running and connected to my network, it brings my entire network down. Simply put, unless there is a hardware issue with y...

Re: error message on Fedora boot - "FAILED" in red
Thanks for the support. I decided to do a clean install (again). I started by testing my DVD. It said it was fine, no errors. The install of Fedora (12.46) went perfect. It installed 1114 packages. No errors. This is my 3rd time at a full install. I am installing this on a Presario laptop that is ab...

Re: error message on Fedora boot - "FAILED" in red
Here is some addition information. It seems that while I have this fedora/amahi machine running and connected to my network, it brings my entire network down. I have to shut down my router/modem and then re start all the computers again. After we were all up and running again, I booted the Fedora/Am...

Re: VNC questions
:) I seem to have answered most of my first questions. When I read the Wiki, I failed to notice the link to G-Loaded Journal. Having read that, and killed some of what I'd already set up, I've now got access for three users on the hda. Nice. One question - is anyone using SSH tunneling to run VNC r...

Re: error report with Fedora- Help!
Hi... My install of Fedora went, as far as I can tell, flawlessly. When I reached my Fedora desktop, I chose to install the security updates only. It updated some, then wanted to update more, but failed. So I decided to reboot and try again. When I booted the second time, all the things that were a...

error message on Fedora boot - "FAILED" in red
Hi... I get a error message on boot. But the data flyers so fast across my screen, I can not read the error. I hit my Pause/Break key, but that will not stop it. How do I stop it to read the error message? My install of Fedora (12.46) went fine. I did not do any updates after I installed Fedora. Aft...
