Amahi-installer segmentation fault

Postby andyph666 » Fri Mar 05, 2010 9:13 am

Hello. I have tried to install amahi several times but failed. I am getting a segmentation fault when connecting to the amahi-installer. I installed fedora word for word except for changing the hostname to hda. When I type in /usr/bin/amahi-installer, I connect to it via firefox. I get a blank white screen and this segmentation fault happens. [url]http://paste.amahi.org/d375a238c[/uri]

After this it says unable to connect in firefox. I have to do a run amahi-installer again before I can get the blank screen again. netstat -anp | grep :2000 does not return anything when it says unable to connect. Thanks for the help.

[root@hda ~]# cat /tmp/amahi-ruby-install.log | fpaste
Uploading (0.6K)...

Thanks gboudreau. Here's an update. I used yum -y update and it updated everything fine. I restarted the server with /usr/bin/amahi-installer. Great I saw the webpage it loaded up fine. I scrolled down typed in the password. Pressed the button and nothing happened. I closed the page opened the same page again and I got an error on the page.

Using firefox, connected to localhost:2000, it gave this error once I tried it again.

Code: Select all

I'm able to reproduce in my VM. Just need to refresh the http://localhost:2000 page a couple of time to get it.

Code: Select all

Workaround has been found.

See the command to fix this here:
http://bugs.amahi.org/issues/show/465

Also, new installs should work now.

we believe we have found the issue and we have released an new version of the installer that works-around this problem.

see bug #465 for the details and a workaround, if you are still experiencing the issue and would rather not reinstall.
