Hi Guys,
Thanks to the Amahi gurus for all their hard work!
I was curious if anyone has created a networking setup guide for Amahi that steps newbies thru configuring properly with XP machines?
Like a lot of folks, I currently have a router with a Windows desktop and use an occasional Windows laptop; I plugged in the new Amahi box to the router and my Windows machine sees it in the browser (//hda, etc). When I go to "My Network Places" on my XP desktop I see the following:
BooksonHome.com; MoviesonHome.com; DocsonHome.com; MusiconHome.com, etc...
I can't drag any XP files into these folders tho; I get the error "Cannot copy file - Access is denied"
Also looks like the Amahi box should be handling the DHCP and my router is currently still doing this.
Is there a step-by-step guide for getting the network file shares working and the Amahi box configured for the network? Right now the potential and the interface looks awesome but not really able to use it yet with my Windows machine(s).
Thanks in advance!!

Re: Amahi Networking Guide?
Good point -- there should be a simple guide to setting up the network.
As far as your current, particular problem. In the install instructions it says that if you want to take advantage of the power of Amahi you should turn off DHCP on your router. Refer to the tool tip on the step about turning off your DHCP server at http://www.amahi.org/instructions/install_amahi
Then , once you renew the IP configuration on your XP machines you should be able to access the shares correctly.

BTW: for easy and (almost) automatic access to the shares make sure the username on the hda and your windows box match.
that way you won't be prompted for a password if you're trying to connect

Thanks, that did the trick - changed router setting & bounced the server and can access all the shares now - you guys rock!
